This exercise kicked off with Orientation by the Chief Principal and which set pace for the Registrar’s office, the Dean’s office and thereafter the various curricula oriented departments. During the Orientation, the Deputy Principal Mr. Cyrus Ndirangu welcomed the first years and touched briefly on discipline and financial obligations of the new teacher trainees.
The Principal underscored the issue of self-discipline and which will lead to the successful completion of the three-year course, urging the trainees to aim at not just passing but excelling in their academics so as to increase their competitiveness in the job market later on. He advised them to aim at using the diploma as a stepping stone to get to even higher academic achievements and also for social progression.
During this Orientation, the Chief Principal introduced the Wellness champions whose main task is to assist the Kagumo fraternity to maintain wellness socially, emotionally, psychologically and even physically. The team led by Mrs Mary Gakure (CRE department )includes Mrs Beatrice Kuria (Education department), Dr Charles Gichuru ( Computer and ICT), Mr. Patrick Gichohi ( Environmental Education) and Ms Jackline Mwangi (German department).
It is expected that at the end of the Orientation exercise the 2020 first years will feel well integrated into the system and will be ready to hit the road running come next week.
