She stepped into the arena and gracefully did her catwalk in front of the team of five judges, all acclaimed veterinary doctors, to scoop the second position in the category of heifers. This was no mean feat as the vets made a thorough assessment of each entry…the eyes, ears, hooves, back, udder and the general appearance.
The calves are clearly well tended to and thanks to the hours of training by the staff in the farm, the two calves from Kagumo were able to strut in style during the assessment.
This victory is a blessing especially now that, as fate would have it, the best of the three heifers to be presented at the show had succumbed to pneumonia on the very eve of the show, much to the disappointment of all.
Now, we await the final round where the winners will be showcased to the President of Kenya when he comes to open the ASK Nyeri Show officially.
